10. Where is the computer lab located in Miller Hall?

 

1.  There is a form located in our office, Miller 1106.  You have to get the signature of the Department Head of your new Major and turn it into the respective office (i.e. Colleen Moynihan for Psychology) and they will give you more information. If adding a minor, use the same form and get the signature of the Dept head for that minor.  They will then contact you about meeting and planning out the coursework necessary to graduate.

2.  Yes, some professors will allow that, but it is up to the individual professor.  Also, you would have to check with each one about their preference.

3.  First, declare Pre-psych with Colleen Moynihan.  After you have completed 15 credit hrs, GPSYC 101, and Math 220, attend a New Majors Orientation and submit the necessary forms and you will be notified.

4.  There are plenty of opportunities depending on what you're looking for or what your interests are, such as PSYC 290/402 where you can assist professors with their ongoing research or work with Dr. Grayson in mentoring and tutoring younger children in the area.  There are also organizations such as Psi Chi, Psychology Club, ABPsi, and Student Advisory Committee.

5.  Opportunities can be found in the Psych E-Mail News.  You can also talk with various professors and ask them if they have any openings and what their area of interests are.  You can also check their biographies on the Psychology website and read about their research areas. If you're interested in one of those topics, contact that professor about any possible opportunities.

6.  Come into our office to check out our many binders and books or just to talk.  Also, look online at our Graduate School symposia or one of the many good websites, such as All Psychology Schools.

7.  Graduating on time is definitely possible.  The major is 44 credits and can be done in 5 semesters.  The wait before your acceptance can be used for completing your Gen Ed classes and degree requirements, so that when you are accepted you can focus on the Psych major classes.

8.  Graduation Applications can be found in the Peer Advising Office (Miller 1106).  Fill it out with the help of PA or follow instructions, then take it to your Minor department first (if you have one), then to your Psych advisor and then finally to Colleen Moynihan in Suite 1120-1137.
