Welcome to the Irons Research Laboratory

This laboratory is involved in a variety of research projects primarily focused on behavioral interventions of health risk behaviors. In particular we study contingency management of substance use. We also study choice behavior and physiological effects of substances to inform behavioral interventions. We have recently begun to study behavioral interventions of fitness and classroom behaviors. Below is a list of current research activities:

  • Contingency Management of smoking cessation
  • Contingency Management of exercise behavior
  • Contingency Management in the classroom
  • Drug effects on delay discounting
  • Relative reinforcing efficacy of drugs and abstinence
  • Physiological effects of caffeine

This lab works in collaboration with Drs. Bryan Saville, Sherry Serdikoff, Steve Evans, and Tracy Zinn.
