VSCA and held in conjunction with the up coming Spring Conference for
Graduate Students.
Graduate Student Liaison Tammy Davis is the current liaison but a new
Graduate Student Liaison will need to be chosen. After some discussion, it
was decided that Victoria would see if Tammi Milliken is interested. Also,
next yearís Graduate Student Conference will be held at the College of
William & Mary in Williamsburg VA.
Web Page Development - Lennie Echterling provided updated information
concerning the Web Page and discussed the possibility of building a
distribution list for VACES membersí with e-mail. Victoria will explore
how we update the current membership e-mail list.
4. VCA Conference:
A discussion took place as to whether or not VACES would like to sponsor
workshops at VCA this year. It was felt that the workshops last year were
a success, and it was agreed that VACES would sponsor 3 workshops:
(1) Preparing for the Counselor Education Job Search (with mock interviews),
(2) Models of Supervision,
(3) Strategies for Effective Supervision.
In order for the sessions to be held back-to-back, VCA submissions will be
sent to Victoria and Renee.
Much discussion took place concerning ways to increase VACES membership at
the VCA conference. It was decided that a VACES reception rather than a
breakfast would be held. Tickets for a raffle / door prize will be given
to individuals who join VACES. (Get baking, Steve!)
5. VACES Brochure & Banner:
Steve will create a draft of a brochure, which describes VACES and GSC for
the boardís review. Victoria will fax Steve a copy of the old brochure.
VACES Banner or Board. A discussion was had about the development of a
VACES banner or board to be used at conferences. Linda agreed to work on a
banner and Victoria will look for a smaller size board.
6. Board Configuration:
Victoria will write a proposal and send it to the board members, which
address the changes to the VACES Board: changing the president,
vice-president, and secretary positions to 2-year terms. Tammy is
interested in the vice-presidency, and Shari is willing to continue as
secretary.
